Assistant Principal

 

Hello, Sequoia families!

My name is Anthony Fernandez, and I’m excited to serve as the Assistant Principal here at Sequoia Middle School. My journey in education began as a High School Math Teacher at Fontana High School before bringing me to Sequoia, where I had the privilege of serving as the Dean of Student Support and now as Assistant Principal.

Each of these experiences has strengthened my passion for building meaningful relationships, supporting students, and creating a positive school culture where all students can thrive.

I believe every student deserves to feel welcomed, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential. Building strong relationships with students, families, and staff is at the heart of everything I do, and I am committed to making Sequoia a place where every Eagle can SOAR!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. Being both an educator and a parent has given me a deeper appreciation for the trust families place in our schools and the importance of creating strong connections within our school community.

I look forward to getting to know our students, families, and staff and partnering together to make this an outstanding year. Please don’t hesitate to say hello or reach out—I’m always happy to help.

Dean of Students

 

Mr. Callebs began his teaching career in 2018 teaching social studies at Eric Birch High School in Fontana helping at risk students earn their High School Diplomas. He now serves as the Dean of Student Services at Sequoia Middle School. At Sequoia he believes that all students will develop into life-long learners and thriving individuals who are ready to serve their community.

Mr. Callebs earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and his Administrative Services Credential from California State University, San Bernardino.
